City of London Freemen’s School

In 2016, Freemen’s signed an agreement with Miyagi First Senior High School to create a closer working relationship between the two schools and to encourage cultural and educational exchanges. As part of this partnership, Freemen’s hosted nine Japanese students over the course of a week to allow the students to immerse themselves in English culture as well as to give Freemen’s pupils an insight into Japanese life and traditions. Burnham Beeches

On Sunday 13 May, 2-3.30pm, meet a ranger and some of the reptiles and amphibians found at Burnham Beeches. This will take place at the café.

National Walking Month

National walking month is almost here. During the month of May the Road Danger Reduction Team, Business Healthy and the Active City Network will be working with businesses across the Square Mile to get people walking. The aim is to get as many people – City workers and residents – as possible active and to give walking everyday journeys a go. There are loads of ways to take part. City of London Academy Islington (COLAI)

On 20 April, 45 COLAI students attended the annual Year 11 revision camp at Marchants Hill in Guilford. Students worked closely with COLAI staff in groups of no more than six focusing on aspects of key subject knowledge and exam technique. When not studying they were able to take part in activities such as climbing, abseiling and trapeze, challenging any self-imposed limitations they might hold.
