The staff and students of City of London Academy Islington were delighted to be involved once again in the City Schools’ Concert at Milton Court on 15 January. Students enjoyed taking part in energetic workshops with Paul Griffiths, working together with students from the other City schools to create a stunning finale piece. The Trust continues to make progress on the implementation of its Bridging Divides Funding Strategy for 2018/23. On 8 January, the Policy and Resources Committee agreed to support a set of principles which will underpin the new strategy and also approved a £1m provision to support a strategic review of the Bridge House Estates, and an uplift to the Trust’s 2018/19 budget to support the implementation of Bridging Divides.
At the end of 2017, the highly-anticipated, new swimming pool had its official opening ceremony at City of London Freemen’s School. The opening ceremony included the unveiling of a plaque by The Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of the City of London in the presence of the Lady Mayoress, School Governors and members of the Hawkins\Brown architectural team.
