Specially commissioned awards made by glass artist Dreya Bennett were presented to fourteen Year 10 students for reaching first place in the London Ablaze project; the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London. Led by renowned glass artist Sandy Horton, the competition involved 10 schools, who created a sculpture inspired by the fire. Students concentrated on the visual elements of ash, wood, fire, smoke and sky. Katherine Coleman MBE presented the awards at the Autumn Celebration Assembly. She praised the ambassadorial role that the students played in designing and creating of their art pieces.
