On 27 March, the City Corporation hosted a debating event for year 10 students attending the City Corporation’s secondary academies and independent schools. The event was hosted at the Livery Hall. Each school provided two speakers, and students were divided into opposing and proposing teams. Each school also brought along students to be the ‘audience’. The topic was ‘This house would censor the internet’, which lead to some lively debate and some excellent questions from the audience to the speakers. The students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to develop their debating skills, and the opportunity to meet other students from the City Corporations’s family of schools.
