City of London School Head Boy Gets Highest National Score

The Head Boy at City of London School has achieved the national top score in the Introductory Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment Certificate. The qualification provides a basic introduction to the financial services industry with a focus on investments. Students learn the nature and purpose of the retail, wholesale (professional) sectors, as well as the main products and market structures of equities, debt, commodities and derivatives. The qualification includes a 3,000-4,000 word extended essay and a 50-question multiple-choice exam. The essay was based on the question “Evaluate the Advantages and Disadvantages of Investing in Alternatives to equities and bonds.” City of London School started teaching this certificate last year with one pilot group and interest in the qualification has since increased. The School currently has two sets preparing for the course this year. Many congratulations to Alex on this achievement and good luck at the awards ceremony in April.
