Voting in Coleman Street
There are three ways in which you can exercise your vote:
Voting in Person
If you are currently listed as a voter on the Ward List you will be sent a Poll Card by Electoral Services shortly before the election. This will contain your name, address, the date and time of the election and also confirm the location of the polling station where you can vote in person.
The poll will be held at Moor House, at the Junction of London Wall and Moor Fields on Wednesday 4th June between 8am and 8pm
Voting by Post
If you already have a postal vote, then you will be sent a ballot paper on which to register your vote and a form you must sign stating that you are the person using the ballot paper. This second form must be counter-signed by another person, aged 18 or over, confirming their identity. You must return the ballot paper and form by the close of poll. Postal votes are not opened until the day of the elections. Any postal votes returned after the deadline will not be counted.
If you have requested a postal vote you cannot vote 'in person' on the day, but you can hand in the ballot paper sent to you, at the polling station on the day - this means that if you leave it too late to safely ensure your ballot papers are returned in time in the post, it may be best to return your ballot issued to you, to the polling station on Polling Day.
Applications for Postal Ballots have now closed
Voting by Proxy
If you cannot vote at an election in person, you can apply to vote by proxy (someone else voting on your behalf). Full details, including the form you need to complete is available from the Corporation's Website. You need to complete the relevant form and return this to Electoral Services at Guildhall before 5.00pm 6 working-days before Polling Day. There are some exceptions to this deadline where a person becomes physical incapacitated after the deadline - contact Electoral Services for more information as above.
